This Organic Huang Shan Dong Ding blends Taiwanese know-how and tea making techniques and adapts them to one of the most prestigious and mythical tea growing areas of the world: the Huang Shans of China. Not surprisingly, the result is captivatingly unique and well worth their skillful effort and your interest. Our Organic Dong Ding is made according to the traditional methods that have made this name such a strong reference to exemplify what a Taiwanese style Oolong is to the western world. By traditional style we mean a deeper oxidation process and a more pronounced roasting in the finishing stages. Tea master Chen found that their Huang Shan garden was best suited to express the creamy, velvety sweetness of the traditional method, and we couldn’t approve more of his choice! The single leaf is rolled into a ball resulting in an aroma of roasted chestnut and wild orchid flowers. The tea has a rich, creamy and smooth body revealing a sweet taste with a hint of almond.
The health benefits of Oolong teas are well documented including high levels of antioxidants and Dong Ding is no exception. In addition, the concentration of polyphenols found in Dong Ding Oolongs, triggers the enzyme that is responsible for dissolving fat thus has powerful weight reduction qualities.
Like our other organic Chinese Oolongs, Dong Ding may be infused up to three times, with each infusion revealing a new side of this tea's complex flavor.
